"Late Nite Chill on the Lake" : A downtempo joint. (2011) Here we got a nice chillaxin jam, great for late nites. I compiled this mix to tape onto audio-cassette for my buddy Bill's splendiferous watercraft. I'd say out of all my own mixes, I listen to this one the most. It's a mellow jam. The 70's Cactus Vinyl Funk Mixtape (2011) This mix is a powerhouse collection of hot funk jams from the 1970s that I discovered for the first time while digging through the 97 LPs at Cactus Records in Houston. There's some crazy-sick grooves in here that just don't quit! The mix was created as a 'hey check this out' for fellow funk-heads and runs 30 minutes in order to fit perfectly onto cassette tape. I'm very happy with this mix. If you like funk, don't hesitate, just get it now. Also, note that you can stream this by clicking the cassette picture to the left. BOATCHASE! (mixtape)(2011) As with it's sister mixset above, this 24-minute cassette mix was compiled entirely from vinyl LPs I found in the 97 bins at Cactus Records. This time the tracks were picked as a soundtrack to a 70's action movie boat chase scene Again, check out the blog post for the full dirt. MixFaux: Pop House (mixset)(2008) It's thumping house music with a pop-leaning. This mixset takes a turn in the direction of thick dance mixes of pop tunes, including Micheal Jackson, Gnarls Barkley, and my own slamming remix of the theme from the 90s television show "3-2-1 Contact". This set is perfect to put on while you're driving downtown for a night of fun, or hanging out at home, in need of an energy boost. |
Psychedeliante (mixset)(2006) Beginning with a slow progression from deep house territory into breakbeat, and then intermingling between the two, this mixset features approximately 1/3rd original production, including my remixes of the Beatles, Edie Brickell, Homestar Runner, and much more. Of all the productions on here, I personally feel this is the most cohesive, polished package as a whole. There's a lot of replay value here, and something to please just about anyone who digs these genres. I know I've spun this one a whole lot! |
